Getting in
Join the Discord, log in with it, prove you own your gamertag with three emotes. Then everything opens up.
- Join the Discord. The site and the bot both require it. Being removed from the Discord removes you from your clan, your link, and the site at the same time — that is the one lever staff have, and it is the only one they need.
- Go to dayzclanwars.com and log in with Discord. There is no separate account, no password, and never will be.
- Link your gamertag. Start typing it. The site suggests gamertags it has seen on the server that nobody has claimed yet. Pick yours.
- Do three emotes. The site shows you three emotes and an order. Go in game and perform them in that order. Other emotes in between are fine. You have ten minutes, and the page ticks each one off as the server sees it.
- Linked. You get the Linked role in Discord, your server nickname becomes your gamertag, and every clan feature is open to you.
One gamertag per Discord account, one Discord account per gamertag. The system enforces it; nobody has to police it.
Why emotes
Anyone can type someone else's gamertag into a box. Only the person holding the controller can make that character salute, on command, in the right order. The link proves you control the character — not that you know a name.
Things worth knowing
- If your gamertag is already linked to a different Discord account, the site tells you so plainly. It does not leave you doing emotes into the void.
- Renaming your gamertag on Xbox is fine. The link is to your character, not to the spelling of your name.
- Unlinking is on the site, but not while you are in a clan — leave the clan first. Unlinking releases a solo declaration. Linking a different gamertag afterwards starts a fresh player profile; stats do not carry over.
- The suggestions only include gamertags the server has actually seen. If yours is not offered, play a session first and come back.
